Mental autopilot
Often, there’s a kind of “mental autopilot” running in the background; especially when you’re under ongoing stress. It quietly steers your reactions and decisions, and you’re no longer in the driver’s seat, without noticing this. In tense or emotionally charged moments, that internal board computer takes over. No matter how consciously and rationally you try to make decisions, those unconscious patterns still lead you down the same path. However hard you try, the outcome always feels the same. Different from others
Most coaching methods focus on just one specific angle of a problem. Western, academically trained coaches (as well as psychologists) tend to focus on the mind. Your thoughts and where they come from, whether rooted in your current life or in earlier experiences. Spiritual or Eastern approaches, on the other hand, emphasise expanding awareness through meditation, bodywork, and breathing techniques. I have separately explored both paths in depth. Yet I always found that the lack of progress in one area held back my growth in the other. That’s why my approach is a combination of insights and practices from both worlds.
